This team supports the delivery of efficient and effective world class innovation, ensuring that learnings are shared widely inside and outside of Anglian Water, and to provide a vision of the future through testing solutions, reducing uncertainty and scaling value. They have extensive experience in identifying, challenging and implementing innovation opportunities, sharing their expertise with the business to implement effective solutions.

The Innovation Hub is our dedicated website showcasing a variety if current innovation initiatives, from Ofwat funded projects through to Shop Window trials and other innovative activities from across the business.

Research
The breadth of our collaborations throughout the water industry (and beyond) enable us to bring cutting edge knowledge to our organisation through an effective partner network. We work with world-class universities to sponsor students and take part in research studies, and partner with industry regulators, centres of excellence and research platforms such as UKWIR, ensuring vital collaboration that benefits not only Anglian Water, but the industry as a whole.

Shop Window
Shop Window began as a physical space to showcase the work of the innovation team. Over the years the geography covered by the Shop Window has grown, as has the breadth of new technologies and systems being trialled. Innovation is considered not just in terms of technology but across our processes, people and information too. It’s aim is to accelerate innovation by removing barriers, implementing innovative solutions and testing new ways of working across the whole water cycle.
Ofwat Innovation Fund
Established in 2021, the Ofwat Innovation Fund is a £200 million initiative to help grow the water sector’s capacity to innovate and collaborate in order to better meet the evolving needs of customers, society and the environment. To date, more than £24 million has been awarded to Anglian Water to fund groundbreaking projects that address key issues such as climate change, net zero, protecting the environment, operational resilience and the impact on our customers.

Innovation Suppliers
We want to make it as easy as possible for new and existing suppliers to engage with us and submit ideas for regional, national and international initiatives. There are three mechanisms by which suppliers can engage: WIN (Water Innovation Network), Spring and WaterStart.
