Doing the right thing today, for the communities of tomorrow.
Our new fund will support projects that create environmental and social benefit.
Anglian Water’s Thriving Communities Fund exists to empower groups in our region to improve their local environment and create positive social impact. It gives them the opportunity to drive change and tell us where money should be spent.
Over the next five years, we’ll be putting £5.8m of shareholder funds into projects that improve the water environment and bring real social benefits to our region. This aligns closely with our purpose, and we’re excited to work alongside local communities to help them make the most of the fund. Whether it’s shaping spaces that enhance wellbeing and reduce flood risk, improving water quality, or helping local species thrive, there are countless ways this fund can help communities flourish.
Application for grants between £10,000 and £100,000 can be made and there's a two stage application process for grants over £50,000. We aim to distribute £1.5m in the first 12 months.
The Thriving Communities fund opened for applications from across the Anglian Water region on Monday 10 November 2025. We're pleased to announce that our second round opened on 5 March 2026 and will close on 1 May 2026.
We're working with Cambridgeshire Community Foundation (CCF) to develop and administer the fund across the Anglian Water region. If you’d like to apply for a grant, please visit their website.
If you have questions about the fund, please see our FAQs below or contact CCF directly at info@cambscf.org.uk.
